Which publication is the primary source for identifying Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) and other current airspace restrictions before a drone flight?

AThe Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM).
BNotices to Airmen (NOTAMs).
CThe FAA Sectional Aeronautical Chart.

Why →NOTAMs are the official real-time notification system for temporary hazards and restrictions including TFRs, runway closures, and NAVAID outages. TFRs created under §§ 91.137–91.145 are published as NOTAMs. Sectional charts and the AIM are updated on fixed cycles and cannot reflect temporary conditions.

The trap →Sectional charts are updated every 56 days and cannot show TFRs. The AIM is a procedures reference, not a flight planning tool for current conditions. Only NOTAMs and real-time apps pulling live NOTAM data give current airspace status.

Field note →B4UFLY and the FAA's DroneZone both display live NOTAM data. Always check within 1–2 hours of flight. TFRs for VIP movements, wildfires, and disasters can appear with very little notice.
