What does a magenta dashed line on a sectional chart indicate?

Why →
A magenta dashed line on a sectional chart indicates the boundary of Class E airspace that begins at the surface. This is often found around airports that have instrument approaches but no control tower. Drone pilots need authorization to fly in surface-level Class E airspace.
The trap →
Class C uses solid magenta lines (not dashed). MOAs are shown with hashed lines in a different color. The magenta dashed line is specifically surface Class E.
