ATIS provides a continuous automated broadcast of current airport conditions. Ceiling, visibility, wind, active runway, and relevant NOTAMs. Updated whenever significant changes occur. Drone pilots can access ATIS by telephone (most airports publish a phone number) or through preflight apps like Aloft or ForeFlight that aggregate this data alongside LAANC authorization status.

The airport manager has no real-time weather authority. ARTCC (en route center) handles high-altitude IFR traffic and is not a resource for local airport conditions. ATIS is designed exactly for this purpose and is freely accessible.
