How does adding payload weight to a multirotor drone primarily affect its performance?

Why →
Adding payload increases total aircraft weight. Motors must work harder (higher RPM/current) to maintain altitude, which directly reduces battery endurance. The additional weight also reduces the excess thrust available for rapid corrections and aggressive maneuvers.
The trap →
Payload never improves flight time. Heavier weight always demands more power. Staying within "rated capacity" prevents structural failure but doesn't eliminate performance degradation.
