A remote pilot in command must report an accident to the FAA within how many days if there is serious injury or property damage over $500?

A10 calendar days
B5 business days
C30 calendar days

Why →Under 14 CFR § 107.9, a remote PIC must report any accident resulting in serious injury, loss of consciousness, or property damage exceeding $500 (other than the UAS itself) to the FAA within 10 calendar days.

The trap →The FAA deliberately uses "calendar days," not "business days." 5 business days sounds about right for a government form. It is wrong. And the $500 threshold excludes the cost of the drone itself.

Field note →Real-world note: report via FAA DroneZone. The clock starts when the accident occurs, not when you find out the damage estimate, so don't wait for a repair quote.
